District Karate Competition

On 19th May 2024, the Ghaziabad District Sports Karate Association organized a district karate competition at S.G. Public Senior Secondary School in Vasundhara, Sector 15, Ghaziabad. The event, which served as the selection for the Ghaziabad team for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Karate Competition 2024, saw 152 participants across various weight categories and age groups. The competition was inaugurated by Shri Raja Raman Khanna, the Director of S.G. Public Senior Secondary School, who congratulated and wished luck to all players for the state competition at GLA University, Mathura on 8-9 June. Key officials present included Pushpendra Singh Rawat, Dinesh Kohli, Krishna Rawat, Naina Rawat, Tarun Sharma, and Avinash Singh. Gold medal winners included Avni Singh, Advik Goyanka, Vaishnavi Yadav, and many others.

Earth Day

To renew our commitment to protect and preserve our beautiful planet, and as part of the Earth Day celebrations, a special assembly was conducted today in S.G. Public Sr. Sec. School. The assembly began with a morning prayer, followed by a pledge to conserve the self-sustaining planet Earth.The global theme for this year’s Earth Day, “Planet versus Plastics, was given special emphasis.Valuable information was shared to emphasize the purpose of the celebration and the importance of fighting for climate change, with a strong message about the little ways in which we can take care of our Earth. An inspiring act was presented to persuade young minds to save Mother Earth.
Classroom activities like paper bag making, thumb printing, slogan writing, flashcard making, and poem recitation competitions were organized today to create awareness and show love and respect towards our mother earth.

Maths Quiz Competition

To promote and encourage a fun way of learning among students, S.G. Public Sr. Sec. School organized a math quiz for students in grades l and ll on May 6, 2024. The quiz was conducted in a one-hour special event where a team of four students from each house (i.e., APJ ABDUL KALAM, C V RAMAN, VIKRAM SARABHAI, and SRINIVASAN RAMANUJAN) participated with full excitement and vitality. Participants were told the rules before starting the quiz. A total of 20 questions were asked to test students' knowledge on the subject.
Towards the end of the quiz, an audience round was conducted to encourage participation and give them a chance to test their understanding of the mathematical concepts. After the thrilling audience round, the results were declared.
The objective of conducting this quiz competition was to enable students of different age groups to think out of the box, promote team play, map growth levels in the particular subject, improve their knowledge and learn from their counterparts, and build competitive spirit among the teams.

Mother's Day Celebration

On May 11, 2024, S.G. Public Senior Secondary School in Vasundhara, Ghaziabad, held a colorful program to celebrate Mother's Day. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by enchanting performances including Ganesh Vandana by students. Children from KG to Class V participated with lively dance performances and heartfelt poetry recitations. Games and activities, including a quiz and games for mothers, added to the festivity. Some mothers shared their maternal journey, adding a personal touch. Director Mr. Raja Raman Khanna emphasized the unbreakable bond between mothers and children. Deputy Director Mr. S.K. Sharma highlighted the contribution of women's strength to national development. Mrs. Vibha Khanna, the school's director, and Principal Mrs. Reena Suri extended Mother's Day greetings and felicitated the winners, with Vice Principal Mrs. Kajal Khanduja congratulating them as well.

Maths Quiz Competition III, IV , V

Mathematics is not only real, but it is the reality

S.G. Public Sr. Sec. School organized a mathematics quiz on May 7, 2024, aimed at cultivating a passion for math among students in grades 3 to 5. The event, spanning two hours, fostered healthy competition and teamwork within the school community. Two students from each section, representing houses named after eminent scientists (APJ Abdul Kalam, C V Raman, Vikram Sarabhai, and Srinivasan Ramanujan), eagerly participated. Participants were briefed on the rules before the quiz commenced.

 

The quiz comprised two rounds featuring a total of 20 questions, ranging from standard to tricky ones. An audience round was also conducted during intervals and towards the end of the quiz, encouraging wider participation. Results were announced at the conclusion of the event.

 

The primary goal of this quiz was not only to enhance students' mathematical skills but also to instill confidence, teamwork, and a competitive spirit. By presenting math in an enjoyable and engaging manner, the aim is to cultivate a lifelong appreciation for the subject among our students.
